Hello! I'm Cortney Farkas, the visionary behind A Golden
State Beauty. My mission is to offer a haven for busy women,
where they can indulge in beauty and energy healing services
that rejuvenate their spirit from within.

My journey into the beauty industry began right after high school, and since then, I've delved deep into the world of beauty and wellness with extra education classes with Aveda, Keratin Complex, Paul Mitchell, etc. I completed an Esthetician program in 2008 and later graduated from Cosmetology school in 2013.
As a devoted wife, mother of two, and passionate entrepreneur, I deeply understand the importance of self-care in every woman's life. I wholeheartedly advocate for every woman's right to nourish her well-being. Whether you crave a tranquil head massage accompanied by soothing spa melodies or relish in the simple pleasure of enjoying a freshly brewed coffee during your haircut, I'm here to facilitate that for you.
You'll see that my service offerings are a bit unique and that is because I aim to elevate the experience my guests receive. You won't find gossip, bad vibes, or negativity here - only amazing products, some crystals, and a stylist ready to listen and bring your hair goals to life.
Reiki found its way into my life after a challenging birth experience in 2019, which led to a diagnosis of PTSD. In 2020, I embarked on my first Reiki training journey, and since then, it has become an integral part of my daily routine. Serving as one of my primary coping strategies, Reiki brings me profound solace and serves as a source of joy and purpose when I share it's healing benefits with my clients.
Since opening in May of 2023, I've been crafting services that provide clients an amazing new look as well as the rejuvenation & relaxation they deserve during a salon appointment. You can customize your experience with the addition of a hand massage or extra long head massage coupled with Reiki. I often ask clients how they'd like to feel when they leave their appointment as I believe it's just as important as the hairstyle or treatment they receive.
